Has anyone heard anything about the 3 road sorting and packets? I've heard (don't know if it's true) that packets will also be done with frame sorting but into sleeves so I would assume 3 bullrings of sleeves (1 for local and the other two matching the selections on the frames). If it is going to be into sleeves then we'll run out of them in a few weeks, many of the sleeves tend to have broken clips now.
Have any mail centres started to trial it or do it? On nights at out MC we're starting to see more packets come into the MC in sleeves. The DOMs at the DOs better start planning on putting hours back in to account for bag tipping. Hopefully any MC that does start it doesn't cut up their DBFs then find that they haven't got enough sleeves then remember that they cut up their DBFs.

Re: 3 Frame Sorting & Packets
Our mail centre has been using sleeved yorks to sort packets for years, when on nights ive seen upto 4 bullrings of sleeved yorks for dispatch to the local DOs plus bags.

Re: 3 Frame Sorting & Packets
Our MC has been using sleeves for dispatch of packets to the local DOs for a couple of years now, it's the use of sleeves for dispatch of packets to other MCs that would be new if it ever gets introduced. I'm waiting to see what sorting changes get introduced a few days before the start of xmas pressure this year. Last year we had changes made to the outward sorting a few days before the start of xmas pressure.geoffum wrote:Our mail centre has been using sleeved yorks to sort packets for years, when on nights ive seen upto 4 bullrings of sleeved yorks for dispatch to the local DOs plus bags.
