Re: Middlesbrough on strike.
Its becoming quite obvious that RM have no intentions of reaching agreement with the CWU on any issues in the future, basically we going through the process of virtual de-recognision. Whats our response going to be??? Is it going to be aggressive? Not a chance! We will continue to offer RM chances to "come back to the table" but they wont, all the while members are being bullied and intimidated while our terms and conditions are being eroded. I applaud the stance middlesborough are taking but i dont think you will get any support from divisional level and above, to be quite honest if we want to stop this slash and burn policy there is only one way thats ALL OUT UNOFFICIAL ACTION!!!(Personal opinion)
RM are currently closing our MC, we had a ballot got a 77% yes vote only for it to be cancelled by the PEC at the last minute without any discussions or consultation. During this time we have tried all avenues from div reps to national offices even to DGS who at conference told us "we were to far down the line" to do anything, When headquarters ask everyone to not co-operate with RM over savings etc we presumed it would apply to us aswell, but no we received a letter from martin collins telling us that we should continue with the discussions about closing our MC
The general response from anyone from div rep up is your closing!!!
Went to a meeting last week with div reps who were telling us how important it was we win the upcoming fight with RM, surely you would think then that when we put in disagreements over certain aspects of the transfer that division would back us up?? No "your to far down the line" but can you please go back to your MC and try and deliver a yes vote for I/A
Good luck you boro lads an lasses if only the people in the hierachy of this union had the balls that you are showing maybe we wouldnt be in such a mess. The PEC talk the talk but dont seem to walk the walk!!!
WE are the union

Re: Middlesbrough on strike.
LISTEN guys remember the union is like a big machine ,just like a normal company and can be just as bad ,without a doubt like our employers, double edged sword etc.BUT its our company !!and all these reps and secatarys and pec are elected by us to run this company to the best of their abilityetc. etc etc........so what im saying is ....i think!!.....dont be negative about your union ..there are far to many people alaways rubbishing the union (me included) and when people do that they are rubbishing the members YOU and ME ...be proud to be part of the machine they call "the ONION"
be an important cog in this machine dont just moan about do something about ...use your voice ..work with it ...if you think you can do better then go for it..become a rep take all the s**t that goes with the position..and there is lots of it ..ah !! bolloxs you get the drift dont you ??
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
