What are those sticky labels?
what are the white metalic sticky labels with barcodes on them? Are they a replacement for the red barcodes printed directly onto letters?

Re: What are those sticky labels?
As most of them are affixed over address panels, I imagine they are a new method of extending our working day even further.Spedley wrote:what are the white metalic sticky labels with barcodes on them? Are they a replacement for the red barcodes printed directly onto letters?

Re: What are those sticky labels?
They're from the new Flat Sorting Machines, and most of the time they are stuck over the addresses so I just peel them off and stick them of the IPS frames (I know the FSMs are supposed to walksort the flats but they can hardly sort them to the right office nevermind the right run).

Re: What are those sticky labels?
Yep and it is a pain in the backside!!!!! The wall behind my frame has pretty patterns now due to the MC putting C5 items through and the French machine putting bar codes on the addresses!!!!! The missorts are twice as bad as when the flats were done manually!!!!!! FFS some of the missorts are for the other end of the country!!!!!disgruntledpostie1 wrote:They're from the new Flat Sorting Machines, and most of the time they are stuck over the addresses so I just peel them off and stick them of the IPS frames (I know the FSMs are supposed to walksort the flats but they can hardly sort them to the right office nevermind the right run).

Re: What are those sticky labels?
Haven't you realised yet? Royal Mail no longer offers a service, it is now a business.
Quality doesn't come into it all they are worried about now is saving money and cutting as many jobs as they can as quickly and cheaply as possible..
