Post by wally19 »

Hello I recently joined royal mail part time night shift working 1.30 am until 6.30 am tuesday to saturday.

If I wanted to book a day off as I am going to a concert on a wednesday night and wont be back for the start of my shift in the early hours, what day do I book off, is it the thursday as it would have gone midnight or because the night shift starts at 10 pm on the wednesday do I book that off?

sorry if its a stupid question but Ive been told different things, thankyou :Very Happy

But his attendance doesn't begin until Thursday 01.30. :hmmmm

I think the Application for Leave out of course does ask you what day and what time
you want the leave to begin. I would think you need to apply for one day's leave on the
Thursday, commencing at 0130.

I'd be surprised that they would let you have the day off at short notice.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

I have consulted my crystal ball and I CAN SEE INTO THE FUTURE !!!

As a result of a ticket mix-up, you will find your seats will be very close to the sound system at the concert. As a result, you will find yourself on the receiving end of an almighty migraine that, despite your strong sense of commitment to Royal Mail, will render you unable to attend for duty at the times stated above.

The timing of the migraine and the day's sick that follows it is totally unrelated to the possibility of being denied a short-notice Day off, and purely co-incidental.

Probably.
