Hi
I am trying to find out if any MC's have used first line fix to set up a wifi hotspot within their mail centre ?
we have asked to use first line fix to set one up but there seems to be some reluctance to do this mainly because our managers seem concerned about what people will download, porn etc.I suppose,We cannot seem to convince them that not all postal workers are peodophiles or porn merchants. But with so many people now having laptops, mobiles, psp,s and ds,s we feel that a lot of people would use this sensibly. So if other offices have achieved this out of first line fix then the precedent has been set and we can have another go at persuading our managers to agree.

Easy MR and i think that RM would hate it cause postal workers would be on RMC not porn as someone said. Information for workers is the One thing the bosses hate and RMC gives it and RM and Government dont want an informed workforce! Still i think i might try a look at some porn if i could only make my nokia 3310 except it.
We've been told that they will be using Wi-fi instead of cables, for the computers at the new NWRDC Site. And that they will be allowing us to use it too. However: There won't be anyone coming on here: RMC is blocked from all RM Networks, as far as I know. Along with Youtube, Facebook, etc..
As for when we'd have time to go on the 'Net: Don't you get breaks, where you are?
It is possible to Surf the 'Net, while you're eating you know.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
