Hi
I would like to thank the thieving postal worker from the Brighton or Southampton sorting office who stole my Sister's birthday card and money on the 21st November 2008. Thanks for ruining her day and re-enforcing my views on the integrity of postal workers. You are an ambassador for you co-workers.

You know who you are and I will find you out and take the necessary steps to have you prosecuted.

erm most people dont send money in the post unless recorded or special delivery id blame the sender myself

I agree, c'mon after all these yrs people still send money/coins through the post? Its there own fault.

usually I do send valuables recorded but occasional its inconvenient to queue for 1/2 hour in your local PO whilst some low-life chav is trying to con the counter staff for a dodgy tax disc.

in some respects you are right, this is just an indication of how prevalent theft is within the royal mail workforce.

incidentally where does it state in the royal mail standard operating procedure that postal employees have the right to steal the contents of mail if it is not sent registered ?

I was interested to note that there have been very few replies from the Southampton MC. Does it exist ? does anyone who works there have an opinion on this issue ? why is no one defending the Southampton MC ? could this be the source of the theft ?

Southampton MC does exist, its a fairly new centre im lead to believe.

It could be because we are an unofficial site and they probably have not found us yet.

Why should anyone defend the indefensible but conducting a witch hunt on here is a bad idea as you have posted detail's of your case against someone or some-work place just because the item of mail never turned up did not mean it was stolen!.Their is so meny thread's on this website a spider would do well to no which one is which!.

Good afternoon good folk of the forums

I work at Southampton MC and I have heard nothing of this at all, there has been no raised issues of theft at team wtl's so unfortunately magi_beard as unbelievable as it may seem and as easy as it is to jump on certain ships and all that and accuse RM I happen to believe it is most probably a case of bad piggin' luck
