3rd LARGE PARCEL CENTRE ABANDONED

After Warrington and Northampton parcel centres operating, the third parcel processing centre in the south of England looks set to be abandoned. Directors have set to secure there jobs ahead of Kretinsky and install Large parcel machines in a few mail centres. Can they beat him to it or will he ultimately ignore them.

Any idea on the reason? My guess would be the cost of building it and fitting it out

No idea on reason. Just heard Bristol mail centre is to get a machine to sort large packets only in January 2025.

Depending on what the capacity of that machine is, we might lose some or all of our large packets to Bristol

What impact on the manual sorting?.

PSM will only sort items to roughly adult shoe box size.So a dramatic reduction in hand sorting but not removed altogether as rejects from the PSM still to be sorted or when the machine breaks down.
