We have a lot of PDAs that don’t bleep when scanning, which is frustrating both in the office and on the doorstep.
Volume is turned up and everything suggests it’s set up ok. Managers have not had any useful suggestions.
Does anyone know how to fix these? Or knows what the cause is so we can fund a solution.
Many thanks!

Re: PDAs with no sound
after the new update, press the icon above the slider to mute it and unmute it, it then seems to work for most of them, seems like it doesn't turn on properly the first time. Same goes for accessing the variable sliders, first time it'll just close, then if you try again it'll show all the sliders. It's a bit weird.
If you still have no sound, ring the number on the back, it might just need reinstalling, otherwise it needs replacing.

The worse thing about the new update is if you get an invalid barcode, having to drop back to the menu then into scanning mode. The old way where it just beeped, said invalid barcode and you could continue scanning was much better

Re: PDAs with no sound
If you press the up down button on the right side of the pda, a volume slide control appears down the right of the screen. If you click the symbol at the bottom of the slider, (it’s a sound symbol which may or may not have a strike through as if on mute, can’t remember), that usually makes the sound return.

Re: PDAs with no sound
Mine seems to work sometimes and not others. It is definitely a software glitch rather than the hardware, as I can scan an item, have no beep, then cancel and rescan and it beeps. It is frustrating as you never know for sure if you are scanning an item.
