Midlands SuperHub - Not So Super?

Post by NW11851 »

Publicly published Service Update this morning:

‘Technical difficulties at our new Midlands Hub last night meant some services departed later than expected. As a result, some mail due for delivery today in the following postcode areas may arrive later than expected: DN, HU, LN, S, PO, SO, SP, B, HR, WR, CB, PE, CV, LE, MK, NN, DY, ST, TF, WS and WV.’

Whether the Superhub are a good idea or not, when they fail, they fail big time.

Strange that it has the PO, SO and SP areas, all of which come under Southampton MC yet everywhere else affected isn't anywhere near there

Don’t think so, and they’ve only secured one train per day !

I remember NDC opening. The queue of trucks was out to the M1. Police and other companies on the estate were not happy!

Aye, and the same happened when they introduced the C3 yard operating system which had to be abandoned after a few hours. The MSH is using the C3, so all pieces in place for an entertaining evening ! My spies tell me there’s already at least 10 vehicles queuing at both in and out gates.

I used to be a manger at a food distribution company called Cearns & Brown. They used to work to an ISO standard .Every part of the operation from picking orders to loading vehicles and delivering to the end customer was documented and audited every 12 months to ensure compliance. This model could be used anywhere and was very successful.
Unfortunately RM choose to throw any one at the operation without any Idea of what they are doing. I've seen it in mail centres and DO's. It will never succeed as a business. Once the bones have been picked by the shareholders, it is doomed.

All the other areas are those nearest to MSH, so maybe better to sacrifice those as relatively easier to get the work to them after the regular last network services have gone. Odd that Southampton got treated the same, thought that Nottingham would have been next in line !

This morning’s Service Update:
‘Further technical issues were experienced at our new Midlands Hub as things 'bed in' last night, which meant some services departed later than expected. As a result, some mail due for delivery today in the following postcode areas may arrive later than expected: DN, HU, LN, S, NG, DE, CV, LE, MK and NN.’

At least they despatched SO, PO etc.

Bearing in mind that most MCs try to hide failures, possibly because it affects Managers’ performance bonuses, things must be really bad in MSH.

There is no “problem”

The MSH superhub is going to out paid MC types who were milking the hours and the line managers who were facilitating them.

You WILL lose at least 1/3rd of your trucks.

Now start loving the deal you voted for.
