Mail Centre rationalisation programme

You could only imagine that as being efficient for the LAT hubs furthest away from the super hubs, for instance sending Double deckers up to Edinburgh or Glasgow for distribution to all the LAT offices in Scotland. You can't really see much point for the majority though just to unload it at the MC then load it into another truck.
At most they'll just be cross-docked (unloaded at the MC and wheeled straight to the bay for the LAT hub)

During the recent negotiations the business announced that it wanted to close 5 MCs but didn't say which ones. Any ideas?

Have all mail centres got parcel sorting machines? If not the ones that don't could be a target. Or maybe anywhere that has a number of mail centres in the same county or close by.

Think only about half of MCs have got PSMs atm. We're apparently due to get one at some point. I know Truro could never accommodate a PSM, there's probably a good few DOs that are physically bigger than them.

Are PSMs even needed in MCs anymore as RM have got the superhubs?

I have heard that Greenford MC may be one of the MCs to go alongside Romford which we already knew was going to close because RM lost the lease on the current site some years back but was given a stay of execution. I am wondering if there may be a MC further up the A406 near Brent X so it could cover RM and Greenfords work + NDO as EDO may be moved into the Mount. N1-22 is alot accessible from the NCR and with the developmet around Brent X there may suitable sites for a MC there
