Heard that rumour too, but where did you hear it from ? They still have an 'O' licence and the depot has easy access to the A1 and M25. In fact, exactly the sort of location that RM claim they would look for if they were starting with a 'new build' depot

I know someone who works there, they were supposed to hear some news in January, but nothing yet,the next round of reviews for closures is'nt due until 2012.If RM(ROMEC)get a site in Watford/Hemel area for their workshops, then i believe Hatfield network will be safe for a few years,it'll need to be a fairly big workshop though to take in Watford/Hemel deliveries,50+ 7.5 ton vehicles from the new mail centre, then all the units/trailers from Hatfield. If RM can get another unit on Hatfield Business park that'll be ideal for the workshop, they do need to get their fingers out though as the Watford site has to be cleared by November otherwise penalties will be incurred by RM,so i am told.

As to what is going to be built on the existing Watford site, the remainder of the old Sun Printers(Polestar) and the old Hollywell plant yard are all due for redevolopement, flats ,houses and a Morrissons is the latest i've heard :whistle

Someone needs to tell RM that there is an empty warehouse next door to the Hatfield Streamline site !!! It was used by a greetings card company, but they vacated it last year. Ideal for a new workshop ? :cool
