Heard that rumour too, but where did you hear it from ? They still have an 'O' licence and the depot has easy access to the A1 and M25. In fact, exactly the sort of location that RM claim they would look for if they were starting with a 'new build' depotdisheartened wrote: The logistics operation is run out of Hatfield Business Park(old british areospace )there is no space at Hatfield Streamline to build workshops and it is rumoured that the Hatfield depot is earmarked for the chop, but that still beggars the question where are the vehicles from the Hemel & Watford going to be serviced, vehicle services are operated by romec,so perhaps anyone from romec on this forum can fill in the "blanks"

Re: Any news on the Hemel site
I know someone who works there, they were supposed to hear some news in January, but nothing yet,the next round of reviews for closures is'nt due until 2012.If RM(ROMEC)get a site in Watford/Hemel area for their workshops, then i believe Hatfield network will be safe for a few years,it'll need to be a fairly big workshop though to take in Watford/Hemel deliveries,50+ 7.5 ton vehicles from the new mail centre, then all the units/trailers from Hatfield. If RM can get another unit on Hatfield Business park that'll be ideal for the workshop, they do need to get their fingers out though as the Watford site has to be cleared by November otherwise penalties will be incurred by RM,so i am told.wandle wrote:Heard that rumour too, but where did you hear it from ? Re: Any news on the Hemel site
Someone needs to tell RM that there is an empty warehouse next door to the Hatfield Streamline site !!! It was used by a greetings card company, but they vacated it last year. Ideal for a new workshop ?
