Have you seen the geographical size of our division POSTMAN.
It takes an overnighter just to get from one end to the other.Don't believe everything your told, despite the pitiful leadership from division No 2 had no problems getting the members to the gate...once the screw ups with the ballots were sorted out of course.
The problem was keeping them there while we were left in the dark .
I'm not bigging London up as we have our fair share of you know what's,but we are probably more organised then most,if others don't give a f**k,then we aint going to be left behind because of it.
Unity is strength,an injury to one ect ect
All bollox mate, more like i'm alright Jack,f**k the rest of ya.
You might be right with that but one thing is for sure...London can't exist as a separate entity within the CWU so maybe we should be looking at why others don't give a f**k and try to fix that rather than just accepting it and watching the union fall apart.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

PM'd you fish..
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

What a load of rubbish fishtank not every issue can you suddenly have a national dispute on. Lets face it when executive action was being put in only a few Branch"s balloted all the offices in their own Branch.

Only on Division London balloted every office.

Now lets look at the mail centre closures last year in the North West they balloted only the mail centres and the RDC and the results were a mixed bag , some yes and some no.

Its very well for you to shout that lets have a national dispute on this or that but history states that some areas do not support the offices within their own branch or divison let alone some other area or divison in the country. National Disputes have to be on something which effects every one and are vital to everyone to get a yes vote the 2003 national no vote proved that.

When I mention London and our reaction it is based on the national agreement as the mail centre review is based on regional reviews. It is down to other divisons to consult with their reps and members , we have done that in London.

Thanks for the rant dingo.
All i said....to POSTMAN was that it might be better to look at why the union is breaking itself apart into factions....again  and why so many members don't appear to give a s**t....before it's too late.

I am not an ostrich...i hope for the sake of the union as a WHOLE that you aren't either. :cuppa

dingo,if you and the other union "top boys" know that union is much weaker in so many local areas, then why did the 2010 agreement leave the revisions in the hands of LOCAL reps, and not recommend national involvement????? :arrrghhh :hmmmm :no no
same as it ever was...

The biggest problem IMHO, is the lack of communication, during disputes. And of course the many, many, chances for RM to catch up the backlog when we do have National Strikes. Preventing us from getting any real bargaining power. :hmmmm

But bear in mind, that, that is a failing at HQ, not Branch or local level. There are many good CWU Reps, who do work hard for us, and don't let us down. There are of course exceptions. But if they let you down, just remember that come Election time. :hmmmm

That is, of course, if you get the CHANCE to vote for your rep - our rep has rather oddly being the only one to APPLY for the job...... But some of us know of others who applied, but there wasn't a vote.... :Applause
And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.

You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

What happened when they complained about their applications "going missing"?
Thankfully, that has never happened where I am. But if it did. We'd put complaints in immediately!
