Re: LONDON DIVERSIONS
Totally agree with dingo as at the moment Glasgow is handling Londons mail and staff are lining their pockets but it is being unrealistic to think in this day and age that people will not cash in on this..sad but true...At the end of the day this dispute has been handled totally wrong with fellow CWU members losing money for months while others have avoided any action. We are either a national union fighting to maintain a national union and national agreements or else we are fragmented with areas achieving differnet deals than others.
From the off this should have been a national dispute with a national ballot and that is down to the poor leadership of this union.

Re: LONDON DIVERSIONS
We were on strike at Mount Pleasant on Saturday and Monday (yesterday).
Management cancelled the Sunday OT duties effectively making it a three day strike.
We went back today to find the MC crammed with work.
Management diverted work out to HWDC and Jubilee Mail Centre who have been doing
a lot of our work during the strikes (shame on you).
Work was also diverted out to other MCs including Birmingham and Wolverhampton.
Mail for our Delivery office is apparently being sent to Belfast for sorting then sent
back for delivery in EC1-4.
But the bulk of the backlog was being sent to Dartford. We believe it was not going to
Dartford MC, but that a scab office has been set up in a warehouse with casual and Agency
staff and Managers to sort mail from London offices taking IA.

Re: LONDON DIVERSIONS
Some of us in London and elsewhere have lost nearly 2 weeks money, and to read that fellow union members are lining there pockets at our expense is a f***ing disgrace. If, and i say IF we get a yes vote in the national ballot, maybe London should have a few weeks off before rejoining the strike. I can only give credit to the London branch, because the action we have taken is right, but nationally heads must roll, because this has been disjointed and downright comical in organisation, and this has been going on since 2007 when members of the pec recommended we accept a shite deal without national agreements.
f***ing shame on you c***s handling diverted mail on overtime.

Re: LONDON DIVERSIONS
We have had 3 one day official strkes and the day after the strike all our mail is being taken to birmingham mail centre. We know this as we ask the Eddie stobbard drivers were they are taking it.
One of there drivers asked us if they had a different union than us as he thought unions stuck together in disputes.

Re: LONDON DIVERSIONS

Re: LONDON DIVERSIONS
Difficult one tho mate, as these are offices not taking part in the action, and I guess they have every right to do docket if its offered.drevil1969uk wrote:but osiris we should all be together on this shoudlt be divided in anyway
Bills to pay and all that. Does seem a bit ironic that a lot of members are benefitting from those on strike tho.
