Nothing puzzling about a closure announcement being held back Tman, conference decision was to ballot for industrial action if any unagreed MC closures where to take place, hence only saying its their current thinking, we knew 10 months ago that the decision would be for closure because that's what its all about! Do you think RM are going to waste money on bringing managers down from Manchester to conduct 1 2 1's is they were only thinking about it? As to the previous post of former postie, PO1 and 3 on first floor, PO4-5 on ground floor and PO2 on second floor (although where I wouldn't have a clue!) Anyone from SOMC heard the rumour that your CSS machines will be moved out to make way for PO inward packet bullrings? that's the latest one hereTman wrote:More of a cast-iron certainty than a just a rumour. RM is clearly (at least, until the economy picks up enough to sell the site at a profit, or privatisation takes place) going to keep the place as an MPU, but O/W mail processing is moving to SOMC.
It hasn't got, and won't get, iLSMs,and that tells you all you need to know about RM's long-term plans for POMC.
More puzzling is why the closure announcement is being held back..

Re: Any updates on POMC?
The closure is always going to be "unagreed" and it's clear it's going to happen, so why not officially announce it so the staff there can plan etc?
Saying it's "current thinking" is only delaying the inevitable, so when's the official announcement going to come? A month before the place closes?

Re: Any updates on POMC?
Last IOW mail (about 5 bags) got up to processing at 8:15pm on Tuesday - don't know if it failed. If it was going to SOMC make that 8:45pm. Time for processing before SOMCs last dispatch - I don't think so!Tman wrote:More of a cast-iron certainty than a just a rumour.
