In the options on the pda there is the ability to enable vibration alerts if you need them (3 dots when on the home menu). That's the best I can offer though, We've a couple of deaf or partially deaf lads and they don't seem to have much trouble.

Sorry can't answer your question apart from the above reply there's nothing I've seen regarding those requests.
Just out of interest though how do you find delivery as I'd imagine it can be a bit challenging these days with the higher amount of interaction with the public, as opposed to a few years ago, I'm thinking as most parcels are tracked I end up having a short conversation each time saying I have to take a photo plus if it's a signature asking for their surname which quite often I find difficult to understand when they mumble.

Ah, that brings up another one, also works well for deaf customers: When you are on the screen for signature or photos, there is a button that will bring up an explanation of the contractual requirements for that delivery, you can offer it to them to read. Can't recall what it looks like at this second, but it is there. If I remember, I'll try and take a photo next time I'm working.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑05 Nov 2023, 12:02Sorry can't answer your question apart from the above reply there's nothing I've seen regarding those requests.

Ninja edit: This also gives a good screen of info for ID parcels too, makes it way easier to show them why no, aunty can't pick up uncles parcel this time, because this parcel is an ID verification parcel and has specific rules.

Re: Hard of Hearing Person help
Can't help much on the practicalities of delivery.
But, in my delivery office we have a chap who is deaf, relies on lip reading.
With regard to fire alarms or other emergencies, there are "buddies" assigned to him to make sure he is aware and knows to leave the building...there are multiple (I think 3) to ensure that there is still someone who knows it's their job regardless of days off and annual leave being taken.
Reminder to managers etc. things like this have to be specifically designated...if it's just someone's job/responsibility, you can guarantee no-one will do it

Think locally they have some sort of buzzer box for when the fire alarm goes off
