We are only 11 days into this financial year yet today the management have decided to book people's leave on their behalf but without their consent.
This week in WTLL we were told if we had more than 5 days holiday to book they would allocate days for us whether we wanted them or not. The problem we have is that they reduced the availability for days by so much we have all struggled to book leave and most people had a third of their allocation on the reserve list.
How can they take our holiday entitlement and book them on our behalf. This is unacceptable. The first week I have managed to book and not end up on the reserve list is virtually 6 months into the financial year. Surely this goes against the duty of care they keep harping on about.
When questioned they told us it was the unions fault.

Re: holidays booked without consent
I know. Very annoying.
This year is the first time ever I had to go on the reserve list for two of the weeks I booked, which are generally the same every year. Never been a problem before. July and August totally block booked.
I don't blame the union, I blame the management outright. If they had a brain cell between them, they might just about be able to organise a thought. This is what happens when you elevate brown-nosers beyond the limit of their capability.

You can't beat the system, but you can give it a bloody good kicking.
