Not seen anything about it - but it's probably about as reliable as the 20 million Readers Digest winning numbers we have just delivered and will produce about the same number of winners.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

Re: New bonus scheme proposal
Looks good on paper, but let us wait and see....
You know, in the past, keying rules have changed greatly, affecting KSPH and TPH. Don't be suprised if the RM change the rules so you have to type in more on a single image, thus increasing the unimportant KSPT, but decreasing the bonus-based TPH.
BTW, have you also heard of the 1% increase in basic pay? Inflation is what? 3-4%, and that does not includes petrol.
Anyone know if Leighton and Crozier are getting pay rises this year?
Take care, folks.

Re: New bonus scheme proposal
Word reaches me that the bonus is based on ALL tasks (not just keying, but ROI and orientation).
Now, one small problem here. The quickest you can go on ROI is about 2,200 - any faster and you start to compromise. That means they have already factored in a way of reducing your bonus.
Further, most people move the mouse around on the table at roughly the same speed, so this is a way of bunching people together - i.e. punishing those you are quick and efficient.
I realise that a lot of MDEC keyers ponce around when ROI is on the screen, but surely there must be a more effective method.
Apparently, there will be ROI seed tasks as well. This will actually slow people down on ROI to make sure they get their rectangle box around the address "pixel-perfect".

Re: New bonus scheme proposal
The new bonus scheme is only being trialled in Stockport not Stoke, it is currently measuring ETPH (Effective Tasks Per Hour), tasks are indeed all tasks Address, ROI and Orientation. There are three main areas of concern from the trial, Effective is calculated by multiplying your combined tasks per hour by your accuracy ie 1500 x 98% would equate to 1470 and so on, this has the impact of basically penalising keyers for not being 100% accurate at all times. There is a significant drag factor of ROI as the rules are very strict as indicated by a previous poster, this slows keyers down quite markedly compared to their Address keying. It has also highlighted greatly the impact of intermittent PWFNI (Please Wait For Next Image) this also has a major effect on keying performance.
There is a meeting next week for Area Reps, National Officers and Stockport's lead Shift Rep in London meeting with management to deal with these issues to try and get some adjustments made to the scheme, before it is put to the wider keying population. Hope this is helpful after next week's meeting I will update further.
