Chris, a former student at Torpoint Community College, had never wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and at the time of the accident was working as a data entry inputter for the Royal Mail.
He said: "I did not want to follow my old man but I made that decision when he was in hospital. Deep down in my subconscious, I think I wanted to continue the Royal Marines in the family."
