Pay Day!

Post by red bicycle »

Do you remember when we were paid in cash. You queued outside the locker & on the table outside was the pay sheets.Looking through you found your name, signed, & you were paid in cash. You could also see what everone else had earned if you were quick. I remember a time when the paying officer caught me & said ..... That is the pay sheet not the morning paper. I wasn't looking, really.

Our PEC used to call out your name, and you signed for it, and away you went. The PEC called everyone Mr, Mrs or Miss. He never used anyones first name. He was a real gent, not like the shite who call themselves managers these days.

in our office we had to go for our pay in alphabetical order everything was fine till a mates wife started as a postie.
as you can guess her name was directly below his you could hear the argument all over the office,it was hysterical.
