A soldier puts a pigeon into a basket. Two motorcyclists with baskets on the back drive down a country road. A soldier arrives at a trench with the basket. Officers in the trench write in a notebook, and attach the message to a pigeon's foot. A soldier releases the pigeon.
The pigeon lands on the roof of a large coop. A soldier brings the message to a telegraphist, who taps it out: A.D.A.S. Place. S.A. 31.10.17. 2.30pm. Pigeon Service. To Blue Force. Notice - Please do not shoot homing pigeons. They are performing valuable national work. Capt. H. Dickinson.
