During the First World War women were called upon to do many of the jobs traditionally done by men.
With so many men away fighting, women got the chance to work in jobs they might never have had the chance to experience.
These five Worksop postwomen are one such example.
Here they are seen setting out on their early morning rounds in the town in August 1915, a year into what was to become known as the Great War.
Letters were a vital method of communication in those days and there were numerous postal collections.
For example, from Cheapside alone there were collections made at 5.30am, 9am, 10am, 12.30pm, 4pm, 6pm, 7pm and 9.15pm every day.
Other jobs that women did during the First World War included working in factories making ammunition that would be sent to the front and also farming the land to keep up food supplies.
Doing these jobs helped women in their fight for voting rights.
