WCDO London

Post by MG1966 »

Hi came across this sight after reading about the illegal rave that took place at the old WCDO builing in New Oxford St WC1 on Halloween night - Shame to see the old place get trashed, had some good days there from 86-90 and by strange chance walked past the boarded up building the day before the rave! I Was wondering when it closed down ? I heard from someone a good few years back that the outward sorting went first to MP and that for a while it was a delivery office before the WC deliveries moved to Rathbone place.Always a strike or two going on but met some top blokes there.

I think it closed down in 1993, and has been left empty and boarded up since then.
It must be worth quite a lot. Many of the staff transferred to Mount Pleasant.

i was at the rave. it was brill, we had carboard cut outs of allan leighton, crozier, mandelson, and some of the gobby ones who popped up on telly for interviews during the last strike. we slashed them chopped of there heads, trampled them, then burned them. you shouldav been there. it was GREAT. then we got drunk, and then depressed if u still worked for the royal mail? :mfo :mfo :cfo :lfo

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
