Remember.......pink register slips..soggy recorded books...caps..donkey jackets....white plastic waterproof coats...capes...emptying telephone boxes...bikes with no gears...loading mail on trains...brown pouches...large white pouches for heavy days....morris vans..grey uniform...no shorts allowed..smoking in the office...facing table...short letters...long letters...inspectors...telegrams..second deliverys..TRAINING!!... such romantic times it seemed as though it would go on forever!!! but alas all good things come to an end :sad:

I had a coat, it was that heavy, bit like a german trench coat, and brown leather gloves boy was I smart (not).

Oh yeh! and every monday morning we had to paste an advertising poster on the side of the van.

Do you mean that Royal Mail used to understand the concept of training.

These days it's just follow the leader and try not to make too many mistakes.

I had three days being followed by a strange old woman, if you can call that training. then in to the office to sort polling cards.
