What was Royal Mail Streamline?

I was working at the mc today and found a blue York which said "Property of Royal Mail Streamline" on it. Does anybody know what that was? Google just shows some old photos of trucks with Streamline written on them.

Thought it was the distribution network of trucks that moved the Mail about the country

It was the old name, streamline, blue yorksI think they were used for natwest for their mailings at Shepshed, I've worked in a regional distribution centre, network runs out of them.. Mainly bulk postings businesses mail...

Streamline used to handle all the mailsort for the country.Streamline offices were at Guildford,Leeds,Bolton,Nottingham,Bristol,Rochester,Plymouth,Hatfield and Scotland. The blue cages were called RSC's Rigid Stackable Container. When the national hub started streamline closed down

I used to work for Royal Mail Streamline in Wingate's, Westhoughton 1997 - 2001. Great days!
