Christmas pressure nights at the ovo.

Only time I've ever upgraded hours for Christmas - I'll stay on my normal hours this year.

Delivering to sandbanks in Bournemouth, then catching a small boat to brownsea island and posting over there. Then grabbing a bacon butty on the way home by 12pm

I agree with all of your posts . God I miss those days in early 90s when me and my mate started together . 5.45 start , out for 6.45 and home by 9 . My handicap went down to 12 back then as I was on 1st tee by 9.30 or 10 on Tuesdays 3or4 times a week . I can recall walking up the main road back to my car on a Monday morning having finished by 8.15 and seeing all the miserable faces queuing in traffic on the way to work . Friday nights out , away football matches , club cricket on a Saturday during summer , Sunday nights out . I was a happy 20 something then full of energy , now I'm a miserable 40 year old whose body is falling to pieces and whose hobbies have slowly been eaten away by this job

working at the bus station, wont mention what town.
Big list or arrivals and departures on the wall, for the visitors, what really went on could have been written on the back of a stamp.
Thats when we sent the mail for the sticks out by bus.
Started at 8.30 in the pub by 10.30 finished. Used to do night shifts on overtime on this shift. peachy.

I never did this one but all depots had those before they intoruced ID cards and intercoms at gates.

There was a collegue at gatehouse. His job was to press one button for the costumer and other for employee or visitor. They've been watching youtube or TV all shift long :)
Most depots had one gateman but now they scraped them. I always wished to do that job for a day :)
