I've still got my first blue bag somewhere - bottom of the wardrobe, I think. It was given to me when I started in 1990 and now has a massive split down one of the seems on the 'floor', rendering it useless. I nearly binned it once in a clear-out, but just couldn't. Sad, I know!

I reckon I used it for a good 10 to 12 years, far longer than any of the red ones have lasted!

The postman who took me under his wing when I first started has a blue bag as you describe which he had then and it's still in good nick. Aww. Bless him and his little, blue bag! May he have many happy hours with it on his shoulder!
your lucky, the average lifespan in my office is 3 months!!! after a week the stiching along the side bursts followed quickly by the shoulder strap.

maybe an old topic but I'm looking for one or maybe 2 for insurance purposes of these red and blue canvas bags as the new red ones are just gash. Does anybody have any going spare as I'm even willing to buy one as their the business and the one I have now has lasted me 20 years or more. fingers crossed

I remember the hessian bags, they were great. My thermal jackets still going(2 of them) I made sure I had plenty in stock before they got rid of them. Those were the days of Ben Sherman shirts, Pringle jumpers, only cheap toot today. Ooooooh those were the days.
