I don't know whether anyone on here used to work on the TPO services, but you might be interested to know that it is expected the that TPO will be running in the near future.
The TPO hasn't operated any demonstration trains since 2019. The first time I visited a steam gala at the GCR, in January 2020, a speed restriction in the Quorn and Woodhouse area meant it wasn't able to operate. Of course the pandemic then hit and the TPO set has remained out of service since then.
I am a friend of the GCR and therefore get regular news updates. In October last year, a raffle was held to raise money to get the set operational again. Work is continuing on preparing the coaches and the collection equipment according to Mainline Issue 205, and they are still hoping to bring the TPO back into service this year.
