Hi Everyone,
I started working for royal mail as a postie about 3 months ago and love the job!
Bascially, My girlfriend is moving to sheffield next August, so ill be moving there too.
I love the job, so i would love to transfer to another office, how would i go about doing this?? Do i ask my manager later in the year after 6 months about how to do it, or do i apply online?? Just wondering what would be the quickest way, and if so, is it an easy process??
Any advise would be greatly appriciated :)!

Transfers!
Welcome.
You could try to transfer online AND contact the office/s in Sheffield that you would like to go to personally as well which sometimes speeds things up.
Good luck!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thanks for the help mate.
Would you phone up the office first or is it better to ask the manager first? I am abit hesitant to ask the manager as iv only been working for RM for about 4 months.

Speak to your rep/coach/colleagues to gauge their thoughts, you never know you manager might be sweet with it.
Good luck

Transfers!
any luck yet?
I have transferred. First if you are full time [which i guess not as new] but yeah you will most likely go down to part time as i did.
You want to ok it with your boss, then the best thing would be to go down to that office and go in there and speak to the DOM and tell him straight your situation. Find out if theres any vacancies or if theres any coming up. Theres always people retiring.
