Good afternoon all,
I'm returning to being a postie after a gap of 30-odd years.
I started in the early 1980s so there's obviously been lots of changes while I've been away – no six-day weeks, 5am starts, noon finishes, three-piece suits for uniforms or 'donkey' jackets that ended up five times heavier on wet days.
It looks as if cycles are also a thing of the past – no more balancing a bag off each shoulder and two on the carrier while trying to stay upright at traffic lights!
Jargon has also changed – PHGs, PECs, and PEDs all look to have disappeared along with recorded delivery and registered.
What are the other major changes I can expect – for good and bad?

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
