Hi my name is Michelle, I applied for a job in Royal Mail in august and was given an interview but wasn't successful because there were other candidates who were much qualified than me. I was told that if I saw another position I could apply by just sending an email and I did, I was told that I had to do the entire application again and I did. I was then contacted by someone in STEP 2 informing me that it would not be cost effective for me to apply for the role and that the journey is too long with winter approaching. All these concern is things that I took into consideration before applying for the position, so I went ahead and apply anyways and was then offered the job after completing the steps.
I had a family bereavement and had to leave the country so on my return I was informed that I needed a Biometric card, I have Leave To Remain i the United Kingdom since 2004 and was not aware that I need to have the information transferred unto a card as I haven't the cash to nuetralise , I was told that as soon as I heard from the Home Office with a reference number I should contact HR so they can give me a start date. Throughout the entire process I have complied respectfully. I have been ringing, sending text and emails to get a response but it seems like communication have been lost, in saying that, I would like to know why? Can someone please please me, I was so excited when I was offered the job now the way this is being handle is making me think otherwise.

Impossible to say, you just have to keep on at them.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
