Well folks I started delivery with driving a couple of weeks ago as a part time temp and was immediately sent to a different office than the one I applied to but not a problem as I's local and only to cover paternity leave.
Up to now enjoying the job but have to admit I didn't realise there was quite so much to it - induction gives an incredible amount of mis-information as to how things actual happen in the "real world".
Always deliver mail in the order it appears in the frame is a loose interpretation of what actually happens but it appears the the posties with experience do re-arrange their walks very effectively!! - I will learn I guess.
Did my first solo walk on Monday but couldn't finish as I had to be at a different DO for my driving assessment but the remainder of the walk was covered.
THE DRIVING ASSESSMENT - Really quite informative (I've been driving 30 ish years). The trainer was an ex police response driving instructor and even after 30 years of safe driving there are things to be learned I guess but it took 4.5 hours!
Anyway good luck to anyone else who's recently started and to all here - good forum with good info.
Cheers
