Glasgow here

Post by Broxi »

I’m a postman from Glasgow and I’m sick of seeing the way the business is going. Just stumbled on the site but it looks good (from what I can see as a guest). I'm wondering why there doesn't seem to have been any increase in D2D payment rates for about a decade. The cost of living’s doubled in the time and the payments are derisory. Has the union forgotten about this?

Welcome Broxi - D2ds apparently Royal Mail can't see why we get paid for them at all, so they wanted to remove all payments and have no cap on the amount we deliver. This was just one of their multitude of strings that came with the 2.5% pay deal. However they have now backed down and apparently everything is staying as it is for the time being. However, watch this space, I'm pretty sure they will try it again.

Door2Door were 1p per item when I started in 1980, so they've hardly kept up with inflation. Someone is making a pile of cash, and it isn't us!

inflation

Post by gspot01 »

not just door to doors that arent keeping up with inflation, maybe no ones noticed yet but INFLATIONS UP AGAIN
Now even the 2.5% they want to squeeze us to the bone for is worth virtually nothing in real terms. Our alleged pay rise is now half what the inflation rate is.
