In my office its a little bit different. When I got offered the job I did a bit of research into RM and saw the writing on the wall as they say (SDD was just hitting I've not been in long) as no Rep had welcomed me I had to go looking for him and signed up within 2 weeks.

Hopefully June will see membership go up if we stay solid.

Oh and welcome stu. Sorry got carried away there.

hello all,im also a postman from welwyn garden city--been with royal mail 11 years,8 of it on nights doing indoor sorting.very unhappy with the royal mail's plan to do away with all the nights across the country.oh and can highly recommend stubaby as a very compitent cwu rep.mind you i may be biased he's me brother![/b]

Have thought about the merits of getting your unit reps taking on the workplace coach roles? Good way to get plenty of time with new recruits.

Our workplace coaches are also solid CWU members in fact my assistant is a workplace coach so the first thing that a new entrant does is have a form shoved under their nose and explained the merits of joining the Union. To be fair i am lucky in a sense that everyone is behind the Union at WGC and always has been that really makes my job a whole lot easier.
