Post Office maths question

Just wondered if the PO's Horizon system tells the counter clerk the amount of change to give back to the customer? Or if basic maths is involved? Thanks in advance.

It depends on how you settle the transaction. You can settle it so Horizon tells you how much change to hand out or otherwise, as I think most of us do, just work out yourself how much to give back.

It's just that my business has given me a lot of spare time recently, and there's a job going for a part time (I think either 12 or 16hrs/week) job as a counter clerk at my local PO, so thought I might go for it to give me a little extra money. Could imagine myself starting work at 8:30am and giving someone the wrong change or something.. so at least there is an option for the computer to do it

I could imagine myself enjoying that sort of job just dealing with local customers and their parcels and other PO stuff (the PO does so much nowadays.. )
Are there are any good benefits of working for the Post Office?
