POL Pay agreement
Does anyone know what is happening with POL pay negotiations? Or have they ceased to exist!

Re: POL Pay agreement
Hello, and welcome.
Well... your guess is as good as any other.
At the local level, reps are being led to believe that negotiations are going on further up the chain. Whether this is true, who can say?
Unfortunately for us, the man near the top of the food chain on the CWU side, Andy Furey, who is leading the negotiations went to South Africa for the duration of the World Cup.
Now, I'm not against ANYONE due their holiday time, whether it be staff, manager, rep etc etc.
But I strongly stand by the principle of "a time and a place".
April 1st came and went. There were a few LTBs stating that the zero pay offer was rejected and that they would be going after POL for an ACTUAL pay-rise, not a piss-take.
Come the 11th June, all was silent. Turns out that FIFA members are closer to some peoples hearts than CWU members.
All will be well after 11th July we thought... Wrongly, it turned out. For even though the World Cup had ended any communications regarding a pay-RISE is about as forth coming as the East German Staatssicherheit.
Can I get a quick show of hands from anyone here, be it counters, or anyone else who reads this section; posties, managers, MDEC etc etc, who of you got to take 4 weeks annual leave all together, and went abroad for the entirety of that time? Not on my wages!!
FOR F~~K SAKE!!!!!

Re: POL Pay agreement
A few days ago I asked my CWU Area Representative when I would be able to register my protest at the shambles created by HM Government and Post Office Managers by going on strike. His reply was ‘soon’.
As far as Andy Furey going to South Africa is concerned I don’t know. He may not have had any leave for years, and been saving his money for a long time for all I know… Are we dependent on one man? What would happen if he were hit by the proverbial bus?

Re: POL Pay agreement
A delay might not be so bad. I would rather any action we take is combined with a wider protest in the Public Sector. This hopefully will come to fruition in the Autumn/Winter when as I understand it the Government announces where the cuts will come.

Hi all, I've heard from ' a seinor manager ' there was a meeting last week with Dave Smith, Debbie Moore, Andy furey & Carl Madden. The meeting was positve from both sides & we should hear something in a few weeks time. I couldn't find out anything for our Counters colleges.
