flexi time and holidays

Post by simjan »

Hi, hope someone can answer this, at our office there is a lot of us that has build up between 40 to 90 hours flexi plus odd days of holiday. No available dates this year, been asked to take extra weeks holiday into next years time off. Can someone please clarify that we can do this and not find out too late that if we don't take it this year we will loose it.Sorry if this looks rambling just need to know if there is a maximum you can carry forward. Thanks.

Simjan,

Do you have a CWU Representative, and/or a copy of the Crown Office Staffing Agreement?

This amount of 'Flexi Time' should never have been allowed to build up. I would suggest that the intervention of higher authority from outside the office, on both management and staff side, is required. How will this amount of time being carried forward to next year solve the problem? Will even more be carried into the following year? It’s a form of ‘Credit’ being used to cover poor management.

Sometimes I sit back and wonder if this is all a bad dream…

Thanks for the reply, yes we have cwu repr. haven't got the branch staffing aggreement, will look on cwu site for it. God knows what will happen next year, we loose two full timers in january and we are struggling to cover hours now, trouble is with all this flexi, on paper it looks as though we are managing.

with being part time we used to have the choice of pay or flexi, then we where told by manager that she had been informed from above that no overtime was to be paid. The problems began when people started wanting the time off, none available. Think at the start we all was thinking about other people struggling because there wasn't enough staff there. now I think everyone will have to be selfish in their thinking. This is what the firm relies on, being loyal to your workmates.
