Two passengers were injured in the second crash in the space of just five days

Police have issued an important update on the condition of those involved in a second car crash in the space of five days on a road in Romford.

Two pedestrians were hit by a car at around 6.15am this morning on Crow Lane in Romford, just five days after another crash critically injured two people on the same road (Tuesday, November 19).


Emergency services rushed to the scene and two women were rushed to an east London hospital.

The women have been confirmed as agency staff working at the Royal Mail sorting office, near to where the crash happened.

An air ambulance was also sent to the scene where the road remained shut for hours before reopening around midday.

The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that the driver of the car, a woman in her 40s, stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

They also confirmed that the female pedestrians' injuries are not life-threatening.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: "Police were called at 6.16am on Tuesday, November 19 to reports of a car in collision with two pedestrians on Crow Lane in Romford.

"Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended.

"The female pedestrians will be taken to an east London hospital where their injuries were deemed not life threatening.


"The road reopened at 12pm. The driver of the car, a woman aged 40s, stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries."

This incident follows a crash which happened just five days before (Thursday, November 14) where a witness described someone "fly over the fence onto the tracks".


A young child and women were hit in the collision and they remain in a critical condition in hospital.

Tracy Wan, who lives locally, previously described how the road has become known for being dangerous.

She said: "This stretch of road is a death trap. I have been here eight years and there's been so many people killed here. The council needs to do something about it."
