A Royal Mail delivery office was 'ransacked' on Monday morning (June 11) in a raid that meant some people experienced delays in receiving their mail.
Ashford Delivery Office, in Poplar Road, Ashford, was broken into in the early hours of Monday, causing deliveries from the office to be 'severely disrupted'.
Police are investigating the break-in and are being assisted by Royal Mail in their enquiries. As of Wednesday (June 13), it is unclear how many packages have been stolen from the office.
Royal Mail are asking anyone who might have any information about the incident to contact the police and anyone who is worried about their mail should contact customer services.
A spokesman for Royal Mail said: "Unfortunately deliveries from Ashford Delivery Office were severely disrupted on Monday 11 June because the office was broken into in the early hours of Monday morning and ransacked.
"Police are investigating the crime and we are assisting them with their enquiries.
"We are very sorry for the inconvenience and deliveries are back to normal today. Anyone with any information should contact local police and anyone worried about mail should contact our customer services on 03457 740 740."
Surrey Police has been contacted for comment.
