A FORMER chairman of a parish council who died has been described as a ‘brilliant person’ by his family.
Kevin Robinson had lived in Cliviger for around 30 years with his wife, Ann.
The former postman served as chairman of Cliviger Parish Council in the late 1990s.
Originally from Burnley, the 63-year-old had suffered from bowel cancer and died in the early hours of Monday morning.
Mr Robinson spent more than 30 years with Royal Mail, following in his father and grandfather’s footsteps.
Mrs Robinson, 69, said he would do anything and everything to help everyone out.
She said: “He loved being in Cliviger, this village meant everything to him.
“We had a wonderful and happy marriage, we were married for 28 years.
“We got married on his birthday and he died on my birthday, I like to think he did that so I would always remember him.
“He was such a good, wonderful man, we never spent a day apart.
“Things are going to be very different now, but I’m sure with the support of my family and the village I will get by.”
Hundreds of tributes were left on social media for Mr Robinson, who posted daily pictures of the East Lancashire countryside into the Facebook group ‘Cliviger News’.
Mr Robinson was also a contributor to the Lancashire Telegraph’s Camera Club.
Anthony King, 27, Mr Robinson’s step grandson, said: “He was a brilliant person.
“He was very, very smart and he loved all the family.
“His big passion was photography, he would always be taking pictures and share them on his Facebook pages.
“A lot of people used to comment on them and like them.
“He used to give dog biscuits to the houses who had dogs so they didn’t react badly when he walked up their path, which was really nice.”
Mr Robinson leaves behind three brothers, Neil, Andrew and Paul and sister Julie Stanworth, four stepchildren, seven step grandchildren and six great step grandchildren.
