Newton - Two more Royal Mail vans targeted

For the second week running vandals have targeted Royal Mail vans parked in Newtown.

Newtown Police said exactly a week after one van was damaged, two were targeted lat night with more damage caused.

Last week a rock was thrown through the window of a van in the Gravel car park.

Earlier today, two vans were damaged with rocks being thrown at them.

“On the night of Monday 20th into the early hours Tuesday 21st November a Royal Mail van parked on the Gravel car park, Shortbridge Street, was damaged by a rock being thrown through it’s window,” said PC Henry King-Salter.

“Exactly one week later during the night of Monday, 27th into the early hours of Tuesday 28th November, two further Royal Mail vans were damaged in a similar manner.

“If anyone can assist the police with their enquiries please contact PC 467 King-Salter at Newtown Police Station by calling 101.”

I'm sure the vans would be safer out on overnight retention than on the Shortbridge Street car park in the town centre.
