Royal Mail workers plan to strike for 48 hours from 19 October in a dispute over pensions, pay and jobs.
The Communication Workers Union said it had told the Royal Mail Group that 111,000 postal workers will walk out at midday.
The industrial action follows the 89.1% vote in favour of a strike announced by the union on Thursday.
General secretary Dave Ward said it was a "watershed dispute" that would determine the future of the service.
The CWU have announced a 48 hour strike from 11:00 on Thursday 19th October until 11:00 on Saturday 21st October.
This means if your start time is before 11:00 on Thursday 19th October you will work normally that day. You will be on strike on Friday 20th and too the end of your shift on Saturday 21st.
If you start at 11:00 or after on Thursday 19th you will be on strike on Thursday and Friday and unless you start after 11 on the Saturday you will not resume until Monday.
Whilst the offices are out on strike all normal over time and SA should not be worked as you should be on strike.

The CWU’s Postal Executive met today, Thursday 5th October 2017, to agree the next
steps in our Pillars of Security campaign.
In light of the huge turnout and massive YES vote, the Postal Executive have today
notified the company of our intention to take the following Industrial Action:
The strike will cover all duties, scheduled attendance and overtime commencing
between on or after 11:00am on Thursday 19th October 2017 and before 11:00am on
Saturday 21st October 2017.
