A Royal Mail worker was sent to prison after stealing a parcel containing an iPhone worth nearly £500.

Imran Ali, 23, stole the postal packet while working in Coventry and pleaded guilty to the theft at the city’s magistrates’ courts.

He was sentenced to 12 weeks behind bars as the “high-value theft” in November last year was a “breach of trust” and “in the course of employment” at Royal Mail.

Nice one. Fed up hearing of thieving sods in the company getting a slap on the wrist. Somebody in our region was suspended, then fired, then.... nothing.
Ok some hours of community service, but isn't that kinda what we already do all day long?
Job loss and local embarrassment was presumably considered enough punishment for the crime.
