Notice of ballot for industrial action received from CWU
Royal Mail (RMG.L) confirms it has today received formal notice from the CWU of its intention to call a ballot for industrial action over pensions, Royal Mail pipeline, shorter working week, our legally binding agreement and pay. Under the terms of the notice all CWU members (other than those working in Royal Mail Property and Facilities Solutions) will be balloted. The ballot is expected to open on 14 September 2017.
We remain committed to reaching a negotiated agreement with the CWU on pay and pensions, and other issues we have been discussing. A ballot does not necessarily mean there will be industrial action.
