A 'PAINFULLY' shy postwoman dressed up as a burlesque artist to raise money for needy children.
Sharon Pallister, 36, of Windmill, Halkyn, was seen in all her tassled glory at the Royal Mail enquiry office in Flint and raised £200 for Children in Need.
Sharon faced her fears on the hit reality television show Faking It in December last year and has since been performing as a professional burlesque artist every weekend since.
The postal worker and former cleaner struggled with her self-image and confidence since childhood but underwent a dramatic transformation to convince a panel of show business experts she was a burlesque striptease artist called Scarlet Fever.
Her emotional journey started in 2005 when, while working a cleaner, she replied to an advert in her TV guide to appear in the last ever episode of the Channel 4 programme.
During the audition interviews Sharon revealed she had never even worn a bikini because of scarring from an operation she had as a child.
She said: ""I went for the show because I needed a change and that is what I got.
"Dressing up at work was a way to raise some money for Children in Need."
Her introduction to the risque danceform was a reverse striptease performed by burlesque star Immodesty Blaize.
Through the intensive training of her two mentors, Immodesty and dancer Wayne Sleep, shy Sharon was steadily transformed into a burlesque dancer.
