Royal Mail launch investigation after lorry caught on camera hitting BMW near Wolverhampton

The driver was hit after moving out of the way for an ambulance

Footage has surfaced of a Royal Mail HGV hitting the a BMW which correctly moved out of the way of an emergency vehicle.

The video shows the BMW driver indicating to pull in front of a gap in between the Royal Mail HGV and a LDV van on a carriageway leading up to Wolverhampton City Centre, near East Park.

As the ambulance goes past the saloon, the lights turn green and the HGV driver set's off before the driver of the car can correct himself.

When asked if the incident was reported by the HGV driver, a Royal Mail spokesperson said:

“Royal Mail can confirm that an internal investigation is taking place into this incident."

The incident took place on the Willenhall Road in Wolverhampton on December 5.

Can't see how blame could be appointed to the RM driver (although looks like agency in white cab?) the BMW driver positioned his vehicle in the lorrys blindspot in an unsafe manoeuvre.
