A Christmas parcel containing a gift-wrapped bag of cannabis has been intercepted by keen-nosed postal workers and Devon and Cornwall Police.
The wrapped present initially appeared to be a card and a box of strong mints.
But staff at the Newton Abbot post office noticed the parcel also smelled of cannabis and alerted police.
The parcel was collected by officers who took it back to the police station and when it was opened, they discovered the present contained a small bag of cannabis.
A police spokesman said: "Christmas present intercepted by the post office...Nice Try!"
Police have not revealed who sent the gift or who was its intended recipient.
