ILLEGALLY-parked motorists desperate to get missed parcels caused chaos in Nuneaton town centre, forcing transport bosses to abandon a bus route.
Due to the 'significant' amount of vehicles being illegally parked near to Nuneaton Royal Mail sorting office and collection point, Stagecoach chiefs were forced to re-route some of its buses.
This happened twice, during part of Friday (December 16) and then all day on Saturday (December 18).
A spokesperson for Stagecoach explained: "Stagecoach Midlands temporarily re-routed its bus services which ordinarily operate past the library into the town centre on part of Friday and all day Saturday, as a result of a significant number of cars being inappropriately parked on double yellow lines along this section of road.
"Regrettably this illegal and inappropriate parking resulted in the road becoming so narrow that our buses were unable to operate through.
"A request for assistance was made to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and I can confirm that our services have followed their normal route past the library into town each day this week without any similar problems."
