Royal Mail confirmed the postbox was damaged in a crash last month and is set to be repaired and then relocated
A postbox in Chobham which blocks a car parking space outside Tesco Express in the village will be removed and installed in a new location after a motorist crashed into it.
Royal Mail said the postbox was badly damaged following a crash on Monday October 7.
A green sheet has been placed around the box and secured with black tape, prior to its removal.
Royal Mail spokesman Sally Hopkins said: "This postbox was seriously damaged in a recent traffic accident so we need to remove it for repair.

"We will be replacing the box in a new location nearby as soon as possible.
"In the meantime, customers can post their mail in other postboxes in the area or at any Post Office branch."
The comical situation of the location of the bright red postbox amused Get Surrey readers back in April this year when we reported on the bizarre situation outside the supermarket.

In April Royal Mail said it was looking into the matter and had plans to move the postbox to a more suitable location as it was 'too low in the ground'.
Yet Tesco said the postbox was in place before the store opened while Royal Mail confirmed that the postbox was relocated when the store opened, before the parking bays were marked out.
It's all a bit confusing.
A spokesman for Tesco said at the time: “We always try our best to make it as easy as possible for customers to shop with us.
“The postbox was in place before the store opened but we’re very grateful to the customer for raising it with us."
