Post box campaign finally pays off

After two years battling without success to get a post box installed, Nigel Trasler of the Haddon Way Residents’ Association contacted MP Nicky Morgan in December 2015 for help.

RESIDENTS of Grange Park, Loughborough have celebrated the installation of a new post box, following a three year campaign backed by MP Nicky Morgan, which now means residents no longer have to travel by car to post a letter.

After two years battling without success to get a post box installed, Nigel Trasler of the Haddon Way Residents’ Association contacted MP Nicky Morgan in December 2015 for help.

Nicky in turn contacted Royal Mail, as did a number of others, to push for the new post box.

Their efforts were recently rewarded and a new box was installed on Highland Drive.

MP Nicky Morgan said: “It is because of the persistence of residents and others that the new post box has been installed. It may have only been there a few short weeks, but I understand it is well used.

“The installation of this smart new box has made life easier for residents, and is the latest in a long list of successes made possible because of the hard work of local residents.”
