Warwickshire Police are currently dealing with a suspicious package at the Royal Mail in Bagington this afternoon.

Bomb squad called after grenade found at parcel hub in Coventry

The grenade was moved to a secure area after its discovery in Baginton

Bomb disposal experts were called to a Royal Mail base in Coventry after a grenade was found in a package.

Police were alerted to the discovery of the explosive device at the hub in Baginton on Monday afternoon before it was placed in a secure area.

Officers from Warwickshire Police called in experts from the Royal Logistics Corps’ bomb disposal team.

Upon inspection, the grenade was found to be a deactivated World War One device and was removed from the Royal Mail base.
